Chicago -- April 22, 2021

As the COVID-19 cases remain at significant levels in Chicago, and all over the U.S., the Johnson & Johnson vaccine may be might be linked to blood clots. Among the more than 7 million people who've received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, 6 have experienced very rare blood clots in the brain.

DePaul student Benjamin Lang, who also received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine shared his experience with the shot.

“THE DAY FOLLOWING THE VACCINE, I DID HAVE BODY ACHES AND FATIGUE. I HAVE HEARD SIMILAR STORIES ABOUT PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR SYMPTOMS.”

Due to the recent reports of blood clots, the Illinois Department of Public Health paused the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Lang believes Johnson and Johnson should use this as a wakeup call.

“I HOPE THEY USE THIS AS A LESSON TO MAKE SURE THEY DO THEIR RESEARCH ON THE VACCINE. THE VACCINE WAS RUSH ADDED TO THE PANDEMIC. THIS IS PEOPLES LIVES THAT THEY’RE PLAYING WITH, SO THEY NEED TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS SAFE.”

Madonna and Pfizer vaccines will still be available in Illinois.
